Funny thing is I moved here in the winter, everything was fine for about 6 months, then I took the exotics out to play and the happy waves and smiles of my neighbors all went away and the drug dealer rumors started

What am I missing? How can they determine what you can do with your property? Isn't america a free country anymore?

If I want to do things, I need to get City approval, if they give it...I could care less what my neighbours say of think. My "mini barn" was built when the city workers were on strike a few years ago. How could I get a permit if no one was working to issue them?

Im with you, as long as Im not parking a truck on blocks inthe front yard, letting my grass grow a foot tall, painting my house pink, and other unreasonable stuff why should they have any say, but they do. And they sue you and fine you if you dont comply. But as Ive shown finding a way around the rules is more fun
Im part of a HOA and every freaking neighborhood around here has an HOA and you cant buy a home unless you agree to be part of it

it takes a special kind of ahole to go around and try and boss people around and force them to comply with your will.

Ive started fighting back, I put aliminum foil on my windows, mow my grass on the 31st of a month then one day later on the 1st since I have to mow it once a month then let it grow for 8 weeks , took my friends Subi and played rally driver in the back yard, and stuff like that

Does HOA mean Home Owners Association?

I am not sure I could function in one of those groups. I am with you though, if I have to deal with the BS of a strata on a freehold property, I would find ways to stretch the rules. Good for you!

Im thinking for my next act of civil disobediance will be "Dans Wall O Vans"

buy a few vans and line them bumper to bumper on the side of my driveway along the property line to block the view of my crazy nosey, stalker, spy, gossipy, busybody nieghbor who seems to have made me her favorite hobby since I guess she got bored spending her husbands money all day

How do you avoid the HOA prison that you are in? How high of a fence can you build? or perhaps shrubs? I am determined to make you a worse neighbour then you already are, if that is possible!

I think 4ft is the highest and it has to be rod iron style. Not mess fencing or that crap. I did put a fence up in my driveway before by leaning it against the Van and using triangle wedges and cinder block to keep it from falling

it wasnt in the ground so it wasnt technicly a fence

I need permission to put a in fence, scrubs too. I cant put in a tree or cut one down or anything without permission. Although I did expand my driveway ALOT and they tried to stop me but there not much you can do once the concrete is poured

my goal is to make them move at this point 95% of my trouble comes from just that one lady

I think a "Free Candy and Puppies" sign needs to be placed in the Van next.
they have 3 little girls.......

I have two small kids, and that would annoy me.

What about aggressive dogs? can you have one of those? That would scare the crap out of my wife!

at that point I would start thinking about moving if I had kids too

and dogs dont go well with 8 cats and me working like 15 hours a day
neglected for attention and a plentiful furry food supply can not end well

Tie him up in the back yard, maybe they will kindly ask you to built a large dog house for him, say 10 x 14 x 14! Then get rid of the dog as it would be way to much for you to handle!

What if you just build it like you did with your driveway?

the driveway I got around the rules as the previous owner it looked as if he extended it twice, so I wasnt building off the structure and was just expanding off an already approved inprovment
they didnt bother me after I did it

with the barn, they would deffently either sue me or pay someone to knock it down then send me the bill. Thats what they do if you dont mow the gras, hire someone to, then bill me.
I have a friend that is a Pres of his HOA and when someone built a home in their neighborhood that wasnt up to the neighborhood rules, they had it bulldozed!!!

Wow, that is incredible! I would say almost a communist system. So much for owning your own land.

Nice garage BTW!

FrankWhite is infamous around these parts
I'm just impressed with the fact that there is someone out there like Auctung with the ***** to own two wonderful cars like these and just plain enjoy them. Most of us have wives, jobs, or some other type of BS that prevents us from doing really what we want. This guy just goes out and lives life to the fullest. My wife thinks cars are a waste and is now on the whole green movement. The most I can get past her is a new M3. Even then she still complains that the car is a waste. I could afford a new gt3 or something like that but truthfully the wife and her family would criticize me.... The point is, people should do what makes them happy and if you are a car fanatic like Auctung and your priority is to drive high performance automobiles and enjoy the intoxicating noise that comes from cars such as DIABLOS and GT's then DO IT!

Instead of respraying the car, have you thought about just wrapping the car with painted vinyl wrap? There was a red 360 on here that someone wrapped with white metallic vinyl which came out pretty nice. Just a thought, since it'll cost a ton of money to get a top notch paint job on a car like the CGT and it'll also depreciate the value of the car.

Line your driveway between you and the nosey neighbor with Potted Trees. Technically they're just potted plants lol
