Well, I had high hopes that I'd settle on a well cared for 2007 GT3 at a great price. I've found a couple -- prices range from $86K to $90K.

Then my darn incremental rationalization brain kicks and I've been browsing 2010's just to see what sort of discount off MSRP I could find. Today I found one with all of the options I like, with a $123K MSRP, being "let go" for $116,970. I'm pretty sure I could get them down to $115,970 if I agree to sign papers today. So $8K off MSRP in my book is a good deal.

So now I'm caught between, say, a $90K 2007 GT3, or a $116K 2010. It's less about the absolute money and more about the price/benefit ratio.

I have been struggling through the same process for a couple of weeks.

New car $115-120K

Used CPO car with 5,000 to 7,000 miles.....$82-87K

I have driven both cars and can tell some difference

Not sure what the delta that I will move up to the 2010 is....

In Florida dealers are not moving on the 2010

$123k msrp being offered to you at $116,970 sounds like a really good deal on a new gt3. but if you still thinking about knocking down $1k more to $115,970 then this is probably not the right car for you and you should probably be looking at a whole different price range (much lower).

I would take the NEW one, especially at that great price...but I personally think you can get great prices on a lot of the 2010 GT3s, not just that one... THAT car is MISSING the Carbon Seats.

If you want the 07 08 well cared low mile GT3, I know of two, both down in Florida one is Red the other is White(with mods), +/- 1000 miles, both FULLY LOADED around 140k MSRP, PCCBs...everything. Not sure about the price, but i would say around 95k, depending on your negotiation skills LOL

OK, so I've decided it's a 2010, for sure. Phew...now that that's out of the way, I can either:

* Choose the one a couple of post above
* Choose a used one for $109K

The benefit of used is that I have a tax credit I can apply from a trade-in. My broker/dealer can't apply a tax credit to me as Porsche won't sell a brand new car to a dealer, only to an end-user. Dealers can trade them of course, but again, the tax credit won't apply.

So I'm looking at $109K + $1,500 in transaction fees + $1,000 in shipping ($111,500) for the used one with 1,500 miles with a $118,500 sticker

or

New, $123,970 sticker, selling for $115,970 + $8,117 tax + $1,000 shipping ($125K)

LOL...I like to negotiate. He came out of the gates with $116,970. Why not save $1K if all it takes is a counter offer...can't fall off the floor.
