GT3 997 MK2 Battery issues
Have any of you had battery issues with your cars? For some reason my battery gets drained after a week of non-use. The Porsche dealership said this is a common problem. Just wanted to get any helpful feedback and how to prevent. One recommendation was to buy a charger.
I haven't had any problem with mine with 5500 on the odometer. The OEM batteries are notoriously crappy, however, but it should hold a charge for a week even in cold weather. The plug in chargers from Porsche seem to do the job, though I have always preferred a more robust tender if I'm going to leave the car unattended.
On my last new 997, I went through two batteries in the first six months. I finally put an Interstate in and had no more problems.

Just buy a battery tender, it plugs into any outlet in your garage and you plug it into the cigarette lighter in your car. If you park in an area where there isn't any available outlets such as a subterranean garage, you can get a portable tender. But yeah as others have said, Porsche isn't known for their great stock batteries lol
