Hawk Performance HPS pads

Hey guys,

so starting to tidy my car and adjust it more to my style, and one of the first things i want to do is replace my brake pads (the Pagid's on there are very agressive, and not suited to my needs).

ive been looking around and someone suggested that the Hawk Performance pads are OK.

has anyone here used the HPS pads on their GT3? if so i'd love to hear any feedback before i purchase a set.

Thumbs up

looney, which colour pagids you have?
i am running alcons with pagid blacks on my r32,
and they were fantastic on the track, but like 2 wooden blocks on the street...+ squealed like the bay of pigs haha
i now use ferrodo ds2500's on the street and found them to be a nice compromise without being too harsh on the rotors.
maybe try those, or the new pagid yellows?

If you are looking for a pure street pad, you might consider something like the Centric Posi Quiet Semi-Metallic pads, if they are offered for the GT3. I've used them on other cars, and they are great street pads, no noise and virtually no dust. And yes, I think "ok" is probably an accurate description of the HPS pad. It's not exceptionally good for anything, but it is a street pad that will tolerate a fair amount of heat, not a lot of noise or dust, but not void of either. I don't like it, because it is not nearly adequate for track use, and why put up with its noise and dust properties if you're just cruising down the street? You can't escape noise and dust in a truly high performance pad.

I have installed HPS pads on a GT3 before. They work great with little dust. I also met the owner of HPS at SEMA this past year! Good guy.

I run Pagids on my turbo and don't care about the squeal since I track, but I did put Hawk HPS's on my pickup truck. They groan like hell, no squeal, and stop OK. I would not buy them again.
