Apparently the ram air ducts above the engine bay on this rear wing force air into the intake which creates an additional 15bhp (11kw). The extra power is not reflected anywhere on the stat sheets since official engine outputs are certified on a dyno.

Obviously this makes for a great mod to a normal 996 GT3, as it is not only cosmetic but adds additional power aswell !

 

Yes but you have to be going at 100 mph to get the 10bhp etc It is a pretty common mod though...

Not that I'm doubting the claim of additional HP, I'd think that you would have to be moving pretty good to get that HP. How fast can a blower really blow air into the air box on a dyno?

 

A little confusion. The RS wing offeres extra downforce that you can feel. Has nothing to do with added intake pressure. You may be thinking about the RS intake scoop for the 996 GT3. Advertised as an extra 10 HP at 100 MPH.
I had both the wing and intake scoop on my 996 GT3 but, can't validate on the scoop claims.
