Azzurri is infamous around these parts
Another Oil Spill?

I'm guessing most of us run Mobil One in our GT3s, but has anyone tried Total - or other brands? Also, while the factory recommends "0" weight, is anyone having luck with another option? I occassionally get more smoke on start than I'd like (which looks sort of ridiculous from a 7000-mile vehicle), but my oil consumption is actually better in the GT3 (less) than any other 911 I've ever owned. Any thoughts?

Try Mobil 1 5w-50 if you can find it. It is the only 50w oil approved by Porsche that I'm aware of and if you're not in a super cold climate then you can get away without the 0w.

When my dealer did the oil change in my 997.2 GT3, they told me that they used Mobile One 5W-40.

I always thought that they would use 0W-40, yet I didn't have a chance to ask them why used 5W-40 instead. I guess either is okay and approved by Porsche.

Regards,
