e39 m5 to a 996 gt3 2000
hi my name is rayan and i live in the japan and this my first post and wont be the last i have owned my m5 for 3 years is was good car i loved evrey momment since the beginning of last year i started going to track days and i was hooked the m5 was not that bad but i didn't feel that the car was happy doing it
so i start thinking what can i get and what should i get we have trains and subways in tokyo so i might not or might use as a daily drive
so i find this black 2000 996 gt3 with a round 48000km on it , i have to be truthful i have never owned a Porsche and i don't
know what to expect oh i forgot the price is around 41000$ so Q is, is this a good deal or not

price comparison to the US from Japan is not likely to be any indication of whether its a good deal.
given that you are in Japan, you clearly know that as this car is so old the original 5 year period for shaken is no longer valid and you need to have this car inspected every year, which from all i know of people in Japan, few really can be bothered wtih that, and in turn it makes cars over 5 years old a relative bargain.
to give you some perspective however, here in Australia even the cheapest oldest and high mileage GT3 will still cost you around $90,000 USD + on roads, so its a matter of persepective.
as for whether you enjoy it, i can honestly say, the GT3 is really the most exciting drive ive ever had, and with some of those awesome mountain roads you have in Japan it would be a fantastic car.
if you want it, and can afford it, just buy it.
