i drove one and wasnt THAT impressed, but it is indeed a GREAT car.

im a fan of naturally aspirated power, and at 100k, the GT3 is arguably 90% of the GT2's fun at 50% of the price.

impressive cars u have there.
I like all of them.

The car is a bit of a handful. It will spin through 3rd gear no problem and break the tires loose at speeds over the speed limit on the highway. Its very fun though ;). I can turn the boost down and make it more tame for a track application. The suspension I have on the car makes it very managable to drive.

It depends on what you are use to, honestly. I personally think the way the GT2 makes its power is pretty civil. At least much more so than other high powered turbo cars I have owned or driven. I really enjoy taking my GT2 through mountain roads because it is so easy to drive hard and it gives so much feedback. If I could get over my trepidations of tracking such an expensive car, I would love to bomb it around Lime Rock and Watkins Glen.

If I could only have ONE, it would be the GT2, hands down.

Now, if I had a GT3-RS and could only have one, that would be a much harder decision...

if i put the Techart bumper on the GT2 will u still take it hands down? :D

When's the Techart bodykit going on Tyson? I heard you bought it...

Moogle, You dont seem to have much knowledge or a clue about a GT2, if you werent impressed by driving one, perhaps you never drove one out of a dealer parking lot, as for turbos kicking in on turns, Turbos these days have extremely minimal turbo lag, and even if you have PSM in a 996 TT that doesnt make you invincible, if you want to know turbo lag in turns and be scared drive a late 80s 911 Turbo, then you will know the meaning of turbo lag. As Hamman has stated both of these cars have different personalities to say the least. If I had to pick one GT car it would be a tough call, both offer a different experience and I feel as both were new purchases the GT3 is a better value, my choice would be a GT3 RS.

I went through the same exercise, GT3 new or used GT2. I had a 996 Turbo and had decided to pursue the GT2 and was shut out at a number of dealers at the market peak for new cars. So I modified my 996 Turbo (Ruf RTurbo) and was very happy with it.

I continued to look for a GT2 and it took about a year and finally found the right car. During that time I was tempted to buy a new GT3 on several ocasions, and had I driven one, I might have.

I have owned the GT2 for 8 months and have no regrets. I have driven it back to back with a well set up GT3 at the track. The GT3 is easier to drive fast. At the limit the GT2 offers a higher degree of challange. Where I live the GT2 is probably more fun on the street as we are challenged to find any good roads close by.

You will be "very" happy with either car. The GT2 offers a lot of performance potential if you want to add power, where the GT3 is pretty much flat out right from the Factory. I also have a GT3 Cup and that weighed into my decision as well.

Good luck with your decision.

Hey, why dont we get togther a group and take some Gt2's and gt3'ss out to big willow for some lapping sessions.
I will bring out our Gt2 for some fun.. Ill also bring a Gt3 cup if our race cars in town... This way you can compare a gt2 , gt3 street and gt3 cup :)
I have a few weekdays reserved for some testing in the next few months if anyone wants to come up pm me.

GT-2, GT-3 and tt

I concur with Supercup's, CNC's and Hamann7's comments - to me, depends on how involved a driver wants to be with a car and where the car will be enjoyed the most.

I usually base my decision on which car to drive based on how involved I want to be. As far as driver concentration, the GT-2 requires the most to enjoy its limits - great rewards if all driver and car ingredients come together and great anxiety if you can't put it together; the GT-3 requires less concentration to extract considerable enjoyment and is more foregiving/correctable if you slip up (as compared to GT-2). As far as everyday enjoyment, I find the tt the best compromise - similar power to the GT-2, more forgiving ride than the GT-3, and PSM in case your driving attention is diverted by an attractive blonde :)
