GT2 or GT3
GT2 or GT3
Would you guys rather get a used GT2 or a brand new GT3. I was at the dealership the other day and they have a brand new GT3 that is just incredible but on the other hand you could get a very nice GT2 like shanks also. I believe I read shank wanted about 130 for his car and this was at 115. Is that even a good price for the GT3?
personally i dont buy used cars, and i think the GT2 is terribly overpriced.
i drove one and wasnt THAT impressed, but it is indeed a GREAT car.
im a fan of naturally aspirated power, and at 100k, the GT3 is arguably 90% of the GT2's fun at 50% of the price.

Depends on your needs GT2 for pure speed and great handling...GT3 is a better track car....PM a guy from Calif nammed Hamman7 I think he has both...as well a few other members do as well like JASCLASS....I have friends who also oen both and one sold the 2 the other sold the 3 both had different reasons...
Moogle dont forget a used GT2 can be had these days for 130k or so not far from a new GT3...The GT2 is a real beast....however GT3 would be my choice as there is nothing like an N/A car IMHO!

The GT2 and GT3 have different personalities. If I could only have ONE, it would probably be the GT2. However, it is not for everybody. I would definitely say that the GT3 is easier to drive and more user-friendly, it also is easier to control at the limit than the GT2. The GT2 demands utmost attention and respect when driven quickly. This comes down the way the turbos produce torque in a sudden fashion. While some people don't like it, it makes the car very fast even in stock form.
A low mileage GT2 really is one of the best performance bargains found anywhere. To me, it's worth every penny. If Porsche had fitted the proper components to make the GT2 handle like a GT3, it probably would have been worth its full sticker price... but alas, it feels a tad bit softer and compliant.
It all comes down to personal preference. If you want a car that is fun for the track and easy to drive and revs all day long, get the GT3. If you like torque and high speed bombing with great cornering thrown in, get the GT2.
I think of myself to be very lucky to have both and compare/contrast the differences, and neither are for sale.

Might be a good idea to get out to a track event where GT2 and GT3 owners are lapping, and ask to ride in both. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to drive one if the owner is willing. Nothing compares to real exerience.
I would say GT2 hands down, for myself at least, for the fact that I know I would be unhappy with the power in the GT3. Although I would certainly love to have one next to it in the garage. Turbocharged cars are a lot more fun to drive in my opinion. I am no professional driver (neither are a lot of people here that think they are) and do not frequent the track so I went with what would be the most fun to drive on the street. I think that is something that needs to be considered.
I agree with Josh, but high performance turbo cars, especially with the GT2's supension are hard to beat. Every time I have tried a NA car I go back to a turbo. Very addictive.
There is more myth than fact about the GT2, and lots of ill-informed opinion about them, by casual observers and wannabes.
I own both, the GT2 is the far superior car, the power does not come on suddenly in a curve unless you apply it. If you do..hello inside wall!
The power is the GT2 is much more responsive and therfore requires that you be more judicious in the application..and that the wheels be pointed where you want to go, everything just happens faster.
It''s amazing too see some modifying TTs and making outlandish claims ..do you really think the "far removed" tuners know more than Porsche. The oft raved about TT (while a great car) automatically corrects a lot of input errors and instills a false sense of confidence.
The GT2 is a much more powerful and responsive car than the GT3 and therefore more challenging to drive, It rewards good technique but does not suffer fools but will reward patience.
The best GT3 drivers, when they master this car, will want to migrate to the GT2.
Be careful about all those opinions about the GT2, there are around 200 in the US but easily 10 times that numer of opinions..so somebody is blowing smoke.
If i could only have one..then the GT2 hands down.
I think, but I'm not sure, that the choice would be unanimous among those who own both. Let's see if they all chime in.
