Any Escort 9500ci installers in New England?
I want to get one installed in the GT3 but am not up to doing the job myself. Anyone know of a New England installer who knows Porsche's? There are a bunch of installers listed on Escort's Web site but most of them are stereo/electronics shops and I'm not sure I would trust my car to them. The site also listed Herb Chambers Porsche in Boston, but Chambers told me they no longer do it.

I've found the high end stereo guys know their way around. You know, the guys that do those huge custom installs for the drug dealer looking cars. Find one in your area. Dealers always farm this stuff out to other shops.
FWIW, I've had both, and I'd take a V1 over the 9500 every day of the week.

What makes you choose the V1? I have one now, but I'm looking for an alternative that's concealed, like the 9500ci. Also I want to eliminate the false alarms I get around town, which the 9500ci will do with its GPS lockout feature.

I had a V1 on an 07 Turbo. The arrows and lights (numbers known as "bogeys") were etched into the rear view with the control **** (for volume and mute) installed directly in front of the stick. Sensors were located front and rear in the same manner as the 9500 would be. Very clean.
I swapped my turbo for a GT3 and had the 9500 installed. Way more false alarms (it will only ignore X band. K, KA, and laser will always warn), shorter warning distance, and I even get false laser alarms sometimes. I've never had any radar detector do that. I don't know if stop light cameras and other technologies are more prevalent by you, but I don't think they're used much here in the NY metro area, so the whole GPS system is not as useful for me. Yes, it will learn what it believes to be a false alarm and not indicate it after 3 times or so, but other than that, I miss my V1.
Just my opinion. There are countless pages of what's "better."
Good luck.
