I hv just used my first set of the R6...and I am getting quite similar HCs but chucking them away now tho they havent corded.

I thot that was well worth it. Really like the R6.

We can organize that for you, and ship the tires on a pallet to you. Contact us.

Kumho V710's are great R-Compounds. Better than the R6's IMO.
I have a set for sale in classifieds.

BTW - tiresdirect.net has RA1's in 245/40 and 305/35, 335/30 GT3 sizes for $179/tire for the rears....that's insanely low. For those who can or do track year round, what a deal. That's cheaper than my 275/35 size.

Here's a link to one size for example: http://www.tiresdirect.net/TOYO_Prox..._P2270C200.cfm

Did you try the R100s? Any thoughts vs. R6s?

Been considering them myself after long use of R6s.

Nt-01 fitment on 997

Referencing Nitto NT-01s: Great DE tire at a very good price, and you can run them all the way to cord w/good traction.

There is a fitment issue that can cause a limp mode response from the DME in the tire sizes that are available for 997 P car fitment.

I ran 245 40 18 front and 315 30 18 in the rear on my 997.1 C2S and got limp mode on track. The size differential of these tires is off by about .5 inches, comparred to stock fitments, and this causes an OBD error code: "Torque Comparison Function Motion Signal Implausible".

I'm switching to R888's in 245 40 18 front and 305 35 18 rear which gets the sizes back to within .1 of stock ratio.

This is what I was afraid of and therefore did not even bother with trying the NT01's.

For the Hoosier slicks, run the R80 at the front and R100 at the rear. This is the best combination and at least 2-3 seconds faster than R6 for the first 10 HC.

I was back at the track today (Infinion, instructing not driving) and saw a 997 with the same 245 40 18 front NT 01's. In the rear he was running 305 35 18 Nitto NT 05's. Looks to be the same rubber compound with a slightly deeper tread.

I might have tried just switching my rears to the above mentioned NT-05's but I already ordered a full set of R-888's (245 40 18 and 305 35 18)

Tom, good meeting up with you at MSR this weekend. I might have to take a hit off the R80/R100 crackpipe just once!

Got about the same life - 2 full weekends [16 sessions] out of a set of R100s before they corded. They are faster than R6s as well but cost around $200 more per set. You need a correct setup and need to flip the tires 1/2 way to increase life. I actually lost the fronts before the rears! I could have gotten another 2 or 3 sessions from the rears. However, I'm pretty easy on equipment and try to nurse tires to the very end.

They are harder to drive than the R6s for sure. You need different timing to get the most out of them. I found myself correcting too slowly or too much at the start. Eventually I got closer to the right inputs. I ordered another set before I left the track. Good stuff.

You as well! Hope to see you at the track again soon! I lost my front tires the next session after we ran and lost 1/2 the day on Sunday. Still had a good time though!

FWIW, my data shows that new R6s are about as fast as 4-5 HC R100s. When both are scrubs, they run about the same times so long as they are about 4 HC apart. That is, 8HC R6s are about as fast as 12HC R100. I just wish I could extract as much from them as the R6. It takes nerves of steel to drive R100s at the limit!

I was there as well with H.O.D. I'm currently running the AD08s, but will be moving to the larger NT-01s on my 996 for my next event.
