996 GT3 front lip question
996 GT3 front lip question
hey guys,
i scraped the front splitter on my 996 GT3 today and it appears to have become somewhat detached from the bumper (sort of dropped down).
it is still firmly bolted in, but i can now see the nut's poking out of the bumper, where before it fitted flush.
what do i have to do to push the splitter back in?
here is a pic so you can kind of understand what i mean

you can kind of see in the centre section that you can see the silver nut's which im presuming were in the bumper before?

Depending on what rivots were used- there's the 2 piece push type plastic rivot and a similar 2 piece but screw in type. If push type which I have u pull out the center part pull out the other piece(the center acts as a spreader) then push spoiler back up put outer section in then push the center piece in. Screw type more or less the same cept u screw in the center piece but same concept ie spreader. Of coarse if ain't those 2- no clue. Mike
I'd ditch the screw clips and get the push ones from your dealer. The screw ones were from the mk1 gt3 and offer no advantage just a pain in the ****. If its become detached you may find you need to take the whole thing off and re-apply the 3m double sided tape (available again from dealer). The tape is crucial at high speed otherwise airflow pushes the splitter off. Maybe only an issue on track but definitely an issue.
