Pesonally, I have a feeling that 'if' it is going to happen, it might be more likely a '3.8L engine with Hybrid front hubs.' It should be feasible enough for 500hp (gasoline and electric combined) and for production.

As we know Porsche has been racing and evanelizing the GT3 R Hybrid (anyone knows if the homologation rulebook requires a street-version of it?) Porsche also has been pushing Hybrid on its street cars like the Cayenne S Hybrid and the upcoming Panamera Hybrid. We also has been seeing spy pictures of Porsche testing a GT3 with some sort of Hybrid setup (not the mechanical flywheel, but more tradition Hybrid as in its street cars.)

When connecting all the dots, it might not be far-fetched for a 500hp Limited Edition GT3RS (3.8L engine with some sort of Hybrid front hubs) in production soon.

Just a thought.

Regards,

+1 I agree that a hybrid would be a very wise move and allow the transition of race tech to the street. Sign me up.

i am not feeling the hood color scheme. the body style is hardly any different from current gt3rs to get more people interested. not that i've seen anyone who disliked 997 body style in general but i don't think the body style will get any much "better" if you know what i mean.

Agreed. I had said that in my original post.
Saw where the Sharkwerks 3.9L beat the Ferrari Scud on a flatout 1 mile run from the dig. Ran 182 mph.
$h!t sounds mighty good to me.

Ranger,

Are you talking about that Ferrari that was on the Battle of the Super cars episode? If so that was just a tuned 430 with the scud wheels and stripes. I thought the same thing until someone at Sharkwerks cleared it up in that thread.

Re-le

Latest feedback on the other board (TS) is that this LE version will not be hybrid or Kers, it will be a 4.0L with around 500hp as initially reported. No changes to the existing RS bodystyle. It appears that Porsche will focus on their hybrid technology for future competition cars and will provide this version as a swan song of sorts. Wondering if I should still pick up that 3.8RS?

It is really bad that Porsche decides to make a LE edition of the RS,people that just bought his 2010 or 2011 RS will not be happy since Rs should be the top line of GT3 .
And now they decide to make a better one hmmmm I feel abused.

RS edition should only came one time per series like in the past and now we have RS.2 and RS .2RSLE , then what is next .2RS LE SE (Special Edition) Hybrid cabrio? !!!!!
