Too bad, if you have an un cooperative dealer you might just load it all up, but it might be too late.. Yes, that was my car in St. Pete, it was the weekend I picked it up from the dealer.

I will be in Sebring in 3 weeks with Chin.

Moral of the story:

1) Don't tell the dealer you bought it from that you track/tracked the car
2) Have it inspected somewhere other than you dealer
3) Tow it out of the track then call roadside assisstance

That is my check list so far :-)

That's what I do.

I don't believe it matters what you tell the dealer. If they look at your ECU they can easily tell if you were at the track by all the wide open throttle bits just prior to the problem.

Old thread. Thankfully Porsche changed this policy with the 991GT3. It has specific maintenance requirements for track use to maintain the warranty. No exclusions.

I interpret that as Porsche supports street racing, and testing out the performance of the amazing machine on public roads. I mean - what else could we do with it?

Perhaps they've revised their influence on street racing?

Well, it least we've tested it enough now, since they are using the 9A1 in the upcoming GT3R. The Mezger block is officially on the way out of motorsports.

Lotus actually encourages buyers to track their cars. Just don't over rev it.
I know this because I tracked the crap out of what ended up as a 300hp Elise.

So it would seem Toyota engines are FAR more durable than Porsche ; - )
