Newb could use some price opinions

I am looking at a 2005 GT3 with 9871 miles on it. It is arctic silver and honestly, no surprise, it looks like new. I really like it. The guy is asking 66k but I don't know what's fair. I am not looking for the cheapest one, but want to get a fair deal for both parties--if such a deal exists.

What I'd like to know is that a reasonable price? What are the issues with that particular model car that I should check out? I plan on getting a PPI done at my local dealer, but any advice would be great.

cheers

Here is the car:

There were many fewer 2005's. 96 2005's vs. 894 2004's brought into the US.

Ask if that one came in off of a lease. If it did, if the dealer is reasonable, it should go for the mid to high 50's.

Is the differential a problem in these cars? According to carfax it was purchased PA by the original owner from Sun motors, sold in Jan 2009 and bought at auction by this dealer. The dealer is an independent car lot and all of the cars are in the affordable category. I think the owner bought this car, drove it, and is now selling it.

If the car should be priced in the up 50s then it is way over priced. I don't see him accepting that amount yet. I am certainly not going to pay 66k for it.

There are so few GT3s around maybe I should go back and look at TT cars again. Maybe one will come up soon.

Is 2004 a better year for the car? My budget is really only good enough for 996 cars.

Cheers.
