Intake system of 997.2 GT3RS

Dear all,

I am curious if the 997.2 3RS intake will be able to be retrofitted to the .1 3RS and if there are any benefits to it. I have heard that the intake uses dual MAF sensors. However, after checking on available pictures, I see only one MAF sensor and it is in the same position as in the other GT3 models (i.e. after the airbox). Would anyone be kind enough to take some pictures of their airbox and where the MAF sensor is on their .2 3RS? Another reason I am asking is because I really really like the wing on the .2 3RS and I am thinking of doing a conversion to that on my .1 3RS.

Any info on the .2 3RS's intake system would be greatly appreciated. Also, any thoughts/comments on .2 3RS wing on a .1 3RS?

Thanks!

aY

hey aY, actually it uses one maf and the same one at that. It has a second opening in there (sort of like the 997TT vs 996TT) but in order to take advantage of that you would need to either modify your decklid so that there is a second opening to feed the intake or just buy a MK2 decklid/wing (probably easier).

Alex thanks for the info. Since there will be increased airflow and a stronger ram air effect, I assume the car should benefit from the 3.8 intake?

Actually, I am seriously thinking about getting the MK2's decklid and wing because I really like how it looks. That is why I was asking if the airbox could be fitted to my car. Now I am also thinking if I do the decklid and wing, should I do the rest of the body parts too (i.e. led lights and bumpers). Any thoughts guys?
