I've had some Porsche's In my past, and the last two had the sport adaptive seats. I really did not find them comfotable for me. My low back had "the gap" issue and defenitly did not feel the width (set at the widest setting) accommodated my upper back. I'm 5'11 1/2 and weigh 220lbs & my waist is 33". I'm very fit, built more like a running back.

I'm not a track guy, (yet) and this won't be a DD. Im more of a weekend canyon carver on all our awesome
twistys we have here in SoCal.

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a 2010 GT3 and Im seeing some nicely optioned with the sportbuckets. I've sat (not driven) in the sport seat (standard that comes stock) and instantly found them comfortable. Ive also done the same with the sport buckets (in the show room) and found them not as comfortable as the sport seats, but way more comfortable than the sport additives.

I really love the look of the buckets, but don't want to be feeling like I did, getting out of my my last two Porsches with those adaptives...

Whats your opinion?

For some reason, you need 15 posts to be able to respond to a PM. I sent you a PM but I guess it was blocked.

Regardless, the 997.2 GT3 is such an awesome machine I'd sit on a stool if that was the only seat available.

I have the Sport Buckets in my '10 GT3 and I love them. . I assume you know they are totally manual and have no up/down feature or ability to adjust the seat back other than to tilt forward for access to rear. Even without these adjustments, the driving position is perfect for me (6'-0", 210 lb). I have no back problems so even a 5000 km drive to SoCal and back last summer was totally comfortable. On the track they are fantastic and do an excellent job of keeping my *** planted. One disadvantage is that the high side bolsters make it a little harder to get out of the car than is the case for the other seat styles but for me that is only a minor consideration. If you are getting a good deal on the GT3 you are looking at, then I wouldn't let the sport buckets deter me. If you have a back problem, I'd look for one with the standard seats since you found these to be significantly more comfortable.

Good luck

Just read this ...

Hey, Thanks so much for your response!

I like the fixed driving position of the buckets, as well as the high side bolsters. I'm totally sold on the looks, and the light weight benefiter. Most of the '10 I'm finding are equipped with the adaptives. The others usually have the buckets, and I've only come by a couple that are pretty low optioned (not what I want) that have the standard sport seats.

The adaptives are not comfortable for me because of "the gap" issue. I don't have a low back problem, but I find that space "gap" in the low back L4, L5, does make my back pretty sore. I'm constantly adjusting my hips/waist or the settings to find a comfortable position. Just never found one ...

I'm just hoping my body type grooves with the buckets. I wont purchase a car with the adaptives. My waist is 33, and I'm built more like a running back. I'm barley 6' and weigh a lean 218. We seem similar in size, and you've had no problems ... Thats promising!

Thank you for your input.

Nice! Thanks for the tips ... Are you an owner of a GT3? Were local, so we should connect ...

Fitment shouldn't be an issue. My waist is 33", hope I can keep it there I'm more concerned about low back discomfort. I'm not a real track guy (yet) but, for weekend canyon carving, I would like a seat that will be more comfortable then the adaptives. They were just two narrow (even at the widest setting) for me.
Thank you for your suggestion.

Not yet but working on it. I'm on fence between 7.2-3RS and waiting for 991-3RS. Where in SoCal are you? I'm in Carlsbad.
