suspension alignment/tire recommendations

I have a track weekend this coming weekend. It will be just second track time with 2011 GT3. Last time I took car out "as is" from factory and did really well I thought. Ate the tires up pretty good(pirellis original). Question I have does it make sense to have these tires replaced with track tires(same wheels) and then return originals for street? Also, what specs would you suggest for a moderate track alignment and could this then be reversed to original? I have a 500 mile road trip scheduled later in month. Does changing tires often hurt the integrity of the tire bead? and can the wheels be damages with this on and off tire change? Thanks. Cost at this time prevents a dedicated track wheel/tire.
