gt2 brake question

Ok... so my girlfriend calls me the other day from the mall parking lot... she tells me to come over because there is a silver gt2 in the parking lot. I drive over there and notice something really weird. The brakes on the front and rear were the same size. The rear brakes filled up the entire visible space of the wheel!

so my dad has an 02 gt2 that was ordered w/ the ceramic brakes, yet it has the GT2 yellow calipers. I wanted to amke sure that it wasnt normal to have the same size brakes all around. Ive seen about 15 gt2s in my area and they all (in my recollection) had larger brakes in the front than the rear.

Can anyone tell me whats up with this? Is it normal? why would anyone replace the rear brakes with front brakes? Is it possible that maybe he had to replace the rotors on the rear and the dealer put on front rotors on the the rear? Would they fit?

thanks for all the help... it looked really weird and i wish i had a camera...

All GT2 with PCCB's are 350mm disks front and rear. Some earlier GT2s with steel discs had 330mm disks in the rear.
