kojote
Hello all, I have to share with all of you the past 2 days at Thunderbolt/NJMP with Kojote sports.(::: Kojote Sport - Experience Real Open Track ::
Kojote organized an open track for 2 days, starting at 8:30 am and finishing at 5 pm with 1 hour for lunch.
Here are the rules....no rules. no tech, unlimited passing, short drivers' meeting, and full track with flaggers and safety crew. The drivers are all courteous and full of knowledge. It was just an amazing experience.
it is for advanced drivers, if you have any reservations about being passed anywhere....not for you.
the cars there were amazing and the drivers even better. Unfortunetly my GT3 was at the dealer getting its CL recall and i wasn't able to drive it, but i did rent a spec miata from SCDA (Sports Car Driving Association - Performance Driving in a Safe and Controlled Environment). Even though i was the slowest driver i had a blast. on last minute notice i was able to have a car with trackside support with all consumables (gas, tires, brakes and mechanic) at my ready; it was true arrive and drive. I even got great driving tips from my "crew" who is a master mechanic and racer himself who knows every inch of the local tracks.
The man who runs the show is Francesco Melandri, very nice, approachable and a great driver as well.
What's amazing is that the last Kojote event at NJMP in june was cancelled because of lack of interest and this last event was almost cancelled as well. There were about 20 drivers there yesterday and I'm trying to understand why this isn't more popular, hence this post.
This event is great. Those who really appreciate driving on a track should consider Kojote. I have no financial ties to Kojote, would just like to see it's future events successful.
