GT3 or M6?
i have had BMW's in the past; no doubt two very different cars. the BMWs (imo) is a car that can be driven daily and have some fun with it. the GT-3 is a car that you will not want to drive everyday because if you did you may lose your drivers license or your job; you will never want to get out of it!! that car is such a joy to drive.. two different worlds...
Definitely not about 1/4 mile etc. Obviously not having owned cars like NSX, S2k, Lotus Elise etc.
Was simply responding to someone that said they're about the same in a straight line. The GT3 felt perfect - I loved it. But there is also something sexy about a long snouted GT dropped on some concave wheels. Maybe I need both!

thats an odd comparison... lol. are you feeling lazy and don't want to work a clutch? try a porsche with pdk... even a cayman r. GT3 RS is awesome but tires wear fast, cost a lot, and clearly the clutch is heavy for you. (but you will get used to it over time) another porsche with PDK would solve all those issues...
To this date the '08 M6 has been my all time favorite DD in that price range. Very sad to see it go, not the lease payment though! Bought an RS and no way would DD it but the experience is unmatched as a refined performance street car. Post #8 above, HeavyChevy, pretty much summarized it.
This comparison tells me you need to buy both to fulfill your need because you obviously have a wide range of adrenaline neurons that need satisfying, you'll be lusting for the other if you settle for one. Sorry but there's no one vehicle that fits that bill.
BTW, if you go M6 I have a eisenmann exhaust in wraps if your interested.

M6 and GT3 might be the same through the quarter but from a roll or over 100mph the M6 pulls. See this M6 vs GT3RS. M6 Has an ECU tune but the GT3 is also an RS.

Slightly modded M5 (Headers, mufflers, tune)

Still modded M's vs Stock GT3. I do think the M6 is stronger up top, but just wanted to get the facts straight.
That guy in the GT3 shifted really slow. If you are going to keep up with the M6 you have to shift a WHOLE LOT faster than that.
I used to get annoyed when I asked these kind of questions and people would respond with "you are comparing apples to oranges" but that's precisely true in this case. The M6 is a luxury car with a big engine. The Gt3 is a refined go kart. If you want to cruise, lean toward the M6. If you want to enjoy your driving experience, get the GT3. But I suspect you already know this.
To answer some of your questions:
2. I hear so many odd noises on this car that I had to come on here and search to make sure they are normal. I hear weird noises when I start it up in the morning accompanied by some smoke at times. I get weird clunking noises from the suspension and the clicks from the gearbox. And I love all those noises. I test drove a Carrera S and Turbo also before purchasing the GT3 and both those cars left me underwhelmed. I commented to a friend that it felt like I was driving an M3 or similar luxury car.
3. The only other car I really considered instead of the GT3 was the Viper ACR. I wanted a RWD sports car. Once I realized I was not a professional race car driver and lap times weren't the number one goal, the GT3 was a much nicer car to drive on the street than the Viper. For me, it's the best driver's car you can get and still put 10,000+ miles on it annually. The Viper ACR, Exige, etc are just too annoying to drive as often.
4. I've had my car for 12 months now and put 13000 miles on it and haven't gotten annoyed yet, but I am also used to driving highly modified cars with even stiffer clutches, louder exhausts, and goofier driving characteristics. I was recently thinking about getting an R8 because I love how they look but after driving one and then getting back in the GT3, I reaffirmed my love for all the "annoying" things some get tired of.

Kumar, nice feedback on the GT3 ownership experience. I gathered on the test drive that one has to recalibrate the expectations from ultra refined euro cruiser that happens to be a terror on the track.
Rather, it is a track weapon that is decently refined enpough to be driven daily. I suppose when viewed this way the random noises from suspension, shifter, clutch etc are less annoying and perhaps even endearing!

don't u think the M6 is ugly? just saying.
my vote goes to GT3. completely different car of course but i just can't stand the M6 look. by the way i went through 3 E60 M5s. love the engine, comfort, frankly, the tranny (though most people hate it). pretty much the same package but i just can't like the M6.

If your looking for a dd you might want to test drive a 997 GTS. Its faster and more hard core then a 997s but softer then a GT3
I like the M6 for what it is, a big fast cruiser but owning one out of warranty will cost big $$$$$$$

Have you been doing some recent comparisons and didn't tell nobody
