^ I shouldn't assume

This isn't Troy's car (this is the car that showed up on 12/24) and it's not exactly a professional shot , but I like the angle because it shows off how nice those hips are and the lettering on the wing.

Troy, you're a lucky man.

Any chance you could give us a seat weight comparison? Those Recaros look terrific, and I'm not even familiar with the specific model. Would love to know how the weight compares to stock (bracket information also useful since it's required). Terrific work, and thanks in advance if this is possible.

*EDIT* I did search around and saw that the Recaro SPG XL's appear to weight 19.8 pounds per side, so that just leaves me curious about the bracket setup and how heavy the stock GT3 RS 4.0 seats are.

The pair of RECARO Profi SPG XL:

Im not sure if these are the same seats or if they weigh the same as the 4.0 seats, but this was written on suncoasts site. The seats I drool over

What's the question about the seat bracket? You could use the Recaro bracket but the RSS bracket allows the seat to sit lower and is of better quality. Not sure about the weight of the bracket.

As for the seats they are about 1/2 the weight as stock, offer more lateral support, have a lower CG and have a true FIA spec rating for auto racing use. You can also adjust the pitch if needed for figment and you can still use the slider.

lo-pro, the oem seat (inc the one's in RS) are not CF, it's CF look. the CGT seats are CF.
the bucket seat in RS is quite heavy. try to lift it with your pinky. the recaro spg xl is very light. you can lift it easily with a pinky. if you really want light go with CF/kevlar recaro's. very expensive and lighter still.

Thanks for the info mooty, I am always interested in learning. I was just trying to give weights and I wasnt sure if they were even the same seats as the 4.0

Sadly I dont have any of these seats, I wish I did, Id be trying to lift them with my pink knee all night long.

Thanks for your knowledge on the subject, I will need it in the coming months.

Troy, nice car, looks great, as always it's really coming along.

No doubt, the OEM "Carbon" RS 4.0 seats are boat anchors for sure. The Recaro is a good fit for me. The Carbon Recaro seats were only available in a HANS seat. They are twice the price and not real user friendly for looking out your side window.

A few more subtle modifications...

A quick update on the Gumbo, its been simmering...

A few other subtle modifications were made before shipping the 4.0 back to Troy.

We may still change up a few things in the coming months.

As we do on many of our RS builds - we removed the factory wing uprights and powder coated them in black.

I don't mind the stock silver uprights at all - I just prefer them in black, and on this car the black color works well:

And of course we swapped those amber sides for clear:

We also installed the Porsche Motorsport front lip/splitter to give it a more aggressive look while keeping the factory vibe:

For the exhaust, we wanted an aggressive look out back and an incredible sound to enhance the already amazing experience of driving this RS 4.0.

Introducing the NEW RSS XPipe Center Muffler with Angle Cut Tips (Part#1204).

The original RSS XPipe Center Muffler has straight cut tips that come out just about flush with the rear valance.

We wanted to give GT3 owners some options and this version has the aggressive angle cuts that come out about an inch past the rear valance.

We will continue to make both versions available to you.

The sound / tone is still incredible and I'll post some audio clips later...

Stock 3rd muffler system coming off:

New RSS XPipe Center Muffler w/ Angle Cut Tips going on:

I will post up some sound bytes later...

In the meantime, a few finished pics:

Many more pics to come and a few vids too...

is that the new version of the roll bar?

I agree that the uprights suite this car best in black

made a number of great choices on this one.

Please build more cars and document them online.
