I'm not saying your opinions are wrong, to each their own, but I find it strange that a lot of people sees the 4.0 as a collectors car that shouldn't be tracked. In my mind that car was built solely for track nuts. Everything about it just screams "Nurburgring"!!

If we were talking about the Ferrari F40 or an original Shelby Cobra then yes, I wouldn't take those to the track. But an RSR made for the people 911?
I'd track that puppy every chance I got.

remember that the gt3 has gone through many iterations and years of development. They can take a ton of abuse and are made for it. get an inspection and move on. I'd be more concerned if the car was ever in an accident myself (frame or paint damage).

As far as not tracking a 4.0. that's silly IMHO. I think it's the best track car around.

Life is just too short. Do what makes you happy. Live for yourself, not the next owner.
