This is very interesting stuff, I have a 2007 M5 that I basically drive at redline pretty much. I got the Dinan stroker for that car and I don't feel the need to do that so often now but still, the car seems to be fine after all these years (112K miles on it now). I am very surprised by the reaction Porsche guys like you have to this sort of driving at the limit, I thought this is where these high revving cars are meant to be driven? I got a used 2011 RS that is being delivered to me this week and I fully intend to drive that one like this, should I not?

They are....it just means there are several of us that would not want to spend 200k on a slightly used one with a DME scan that will look like this.

you should fully enjoy the car and its high revs frequently. However, consider what is the need to purposely go into the red (on the street or really straights)) when power falls off about 900-1000 rpms lower. Of course I can see that on the track, one gear suits another better, but on the street or even track there is no need to wind it up to 8600 every time (on the straights) when redline is 8400/8500 and power falls off at 7400 or so. just my three cents.

i still love the vid and i'm sure this engine will see countless similar miles without a hiccup.

It is impressive how it stops. However accelaration was not that impressive, especially from 200-300 at 20+ sec.

As far as concern the place, not all countries have cameras in every highway.
A friend of mine reached 340 kmh with a modified Z06 just passed the toll stop.
In another area where use to take place lots of drag races, cops installed a camera on the side of the road. Some weeks later the camera was removed by force...still down...

Regardling the acceleration of the RS 4.0, let's not forget that it has the most factory downforce of any road going modern 911. I'm sure that isn't doing it any favors on that 200 - 300 kp/h time.

Indisputably the most impressive braking demonstration I have ever witnessed.

That's gotta pull on ye olde harness just a bit....
