Best Street Tires for GT3
Happy New Year to all.
Can I get some input on what you guys prefer for street tires My car is a 2007 and is not daily driven. Car almost never driven in the rain, but happens once in a while due to mother nature changing her mind. Not driven when temps fall below 45 degrees. Used on Northeast roads for a few hundred miles per month. I am currently using Michelin Pilot Sport Cups 305.'s and 235's ZR. Car is lowered with motons all around. Looking for something with grip when conditions are dry but can also handle a little moisture on occasion. Thanks for the help. |
I have had MPSC's, MPS, Pirelli PZero, and my new to me GT3 came with Bridgestone RE11, and of those tires, I like the RE11's the best. They have much better in the wet then the others, as well dry grip as be good. I have been told that they are heavier tires, so your unsprung weight goes up, but these are my streets.

Cups for grip. Corsas for confidence in all conditions.

Ya, I have Corsas on my 10' GT3 and they were great. Rain or shine, good to go. -Troy |
MPSC but then again i have not tried many others.

My tire of choice is the MPSC's but after going through 20+ sets, as I only get 2700 miles out of the rears, I have switched to their new Super Sports! I get over twice the miles at 2/3 thirds the cost and they don't leave that much on the table for spirited road use! I like them a lot, both wet and dry!

Using champion or rss tarmac or territ suspension pieces - rear link and rear toe pieces (possibly control arms and monoballs) paired with a proper alighnment in the rear would help save tires and improve handeling. Im about to get some myself for premature tire wear and added handleing

Super Sports going on my car tomorrow. Moving from the Corsas.

Thanks to all that responded. It was very helpful. I will be going with the Super Sports based on opinions here and after doing some research. Now, my next step is to call tire rack or does anyone knew of a better retailer?
|
+1 on the Super Sports, and on Tire Rack. You won't regret it.
