Carbotech Pads?
Carbotech Pads?
Cross post from rlist:
I recently acquired a 07 gt3 w/ stoptech str bbk. On my previous track car (725whp evo x), I ran carbotech brake pads and they worked fantastic. I wouldn't use anything else after experiencing several different brands, and much of the evo community also swears by them for track use. The weight of the car is similar to the gt3, and I was at much higher speeds. However, I've noticed most of the track guys are running pagid pads, and in searching around nobody seems to use/like the carbotechs. Is there a particular reason, or is it because they are newer to the porsche community?
The part I like about them the most is that you can swap between the XP12/16 track pads and their 1521 street pads without having to rebed the rotors.
If there's solid reasons people use other pads, I have no problem buying what works, I'm just curious why nobody uses the carbotech stuff.
TIA
