Wheel options for a GT2 ???

I've been casually looking at the different wheels on cars posted here. Whenever I look at wheels for sale, most rears are limited to 11"-11.5". I don't see much offered in 12" sizes.

What are my options for a wheel change? This is a street car, so 19's are not out of the question(neither is Bling). How about some pictures and specs.

I doubt you are going to find a 12" rim that works. There are no 18" tires that will fit a 12" rim appropriately and will have the proper profile to match the front tires and not rub. Evem with the fenders rolled, it's just too wide.

You can easily fit 315/30 18 tires (Michelin's PS2's) on 18x12" wheels, fit is pertfect. Michelin's Sport cup (Their race tire) 315's however do rub in the rear.

stock gt2 rear wheel is 18X11.5, right? and the turbo rear wheel is 18X11?

Wrong ... I currently run OEM Porsche 18"x12" on the rear w/315's ... no rubbing.

We're talking GT2 ... fenders rolled at the factory.

I've gotten plenty of wheels for GT2s in the past. It's an easy 315 fit as the Porsche OE tires scpecify. The wheel choices are pretty good too. Kinesis makes 12 inch sizes, as do Fikse etc... I'm partial to Kinesis but then I ride on 12 inches of 'em...

Michelin's recommended rim range on the 315 PS2 is 10.5-11.5 inches. The sidewall is awfully short to be overstretching it onto a 12.

It may fit on the rim and not rub and you may not have any trouble with them, but it goes against what they designed it to fit on and it will stress the tire's shoulders to do it.

Just FYI.

We'd better take that to Porsche and see what they say with regards to the OE Michelin Tire and the GT2:)

I'm more comfy using 335s on my 12s though so I don't disagree;)

How about going with the factory '04-'05 GT3 style in GT2 offsets

For something a little different

here are Volks in gunmetal. 10.5 x 18 and 8.5 x 18 though and no bling factor.

Or you could paint your existing wheels black like these.

Did the 335s rub? What tire are you using?

I use Pirelli Corsas in 315 and don't think they make any bigger, Pilot Sport Cups are available, but seem to list as 345/30/18 which seems too large...........

I use the RA-1s which come in 335 and the very inside fender liner (close to where the turbos are) did rub a little bit yes. You can always use a heat gun and massage the plastic back a little bit tho.
