No, but how about a lap with Derek Bell in a 956?

Just get a few of you US guys together and fly to Germany. It's about $1,000 return in cattle class from the east coast (more if you want to have use of your legs after the flight).

Land at Cologne, hire a car, drive it to the ring, drive it round the 'ring and arrange to meet a few speed crazy brits with fast cars to get some passanger rides......

The Nurburgring is the single finest temple for the worship of cars in the world, utterly beautiful, utterly addictive and utterly brutal.

Or you can do what I did in 2002 - buy a new Porsche, take European delivery and after 2 weeks in the Alps do 5 laps on the "ring.

I'll never forget those 5 laps and hope I have a chance to do it again. Best 50 Euros I ever spent!

Here I am heading out for the second lap (my wife went along for one lap which was enough for her!):

Photo she took on the first lap:

This was in my 02 C4S, since traded for a GT3.

Yeah,

I think I definately want to be in my own sports car when I drive that baby. Ordering a new Porsche and doing Euro delivery might
be the ticket, unless I really want to get crazy and ship the RED BEAST over for some laps. Now that would be fun!

And there, you can speed legally! (Which I think would be a good thing for you.)
