Looking for feedback from the GT3 crowd...
Here's a message I posted in my 991 thread a couple of days ago.
I currently own a 991S and a track dedicated 996. Still being a newbie, I had never tested a GT3 before and when I did so... well it raised a lot of questions.

I KNOW that the 991S is a more modern and sophisticated car (even faster based on numbers you find on the internet and some personal experience on th track), but the test drive left me all confused. The sound and vibration of the engine, the way it revs, the road feel through the steering wheel, the crazy strong ceramic brakes and the alcantara cabin made it a delightful experience (it almost made me disregard the aged PCM2 and the very hard clutch). This is simply what I am trying to accomplish with my 996 project car, but simply more balanced, accurate and powerful
I was not far from thinking that this was all the car I needed and get rid of my 991S and track 996 to spend as much time as I could in this one
I went back on the same road with my 991S is Sport Plus mode and it was effortlessly faster and much smoother, but, somehow, something was missing. This has nothing to do with all the usual controversies of 997 vs 991's, but more about a GT3 vs a more polished 911.
So here I am, replacing the 996 by the GT3 for the track is too big an investment, and for 8 to 10 DE's a year, maybe the GT3 is all I need as a DD and DE car.
The 991 folks of course thought I should stay with the 991 (and the 996).
I am just curious to get feedback from GT3 owners and enthusiasts, especially those who are daily driving it and have had the opportunity to drive the 991S.
Thanks for your feedback!

My experience
The GT3, of which I have owned a 996, a 997 and a 997 GT3RS, are wonderful track cars and daily drivers, if you are a somewhat skilled driver and pay attention. In the 997, a number of adjustments (rear sway bar, etc) make these cars powerful track vehicles, but require skill to race at 99.99%...
That being said, if really love the older 911, they are also wonderful daily drivers. I especially like commuting around DC with the GT3RS, but I don't talk on a phone or do anything else except focus (and listen to music) when I drive.
