Cup Cars Sticker Price
Cup Cars Sticker Price
This seems like the closest to the proper forum for these questions. Does anyone know what the 991 Cup cars are going for? Also how much depreciation can one expect in general for a well maintained car. Meaning, if I wait a year and buy a used 991 Cup what can I expect to pay? Ballpark. In other words how much did last years cars drop in value once the 991s came out?
I scrounged up the ballpark prices for a new 991 Cup. It's around $275,000 up to $290,000 depending on spares shipping and extras to the US. So...I'm looking for an older one.
Price will vary depending on what has been done to the car and how many hours of track time it has seen.
I just did a quick search and found a few used cars for sale that are local to me:
2011 997 GT3R Tribute for $325,000
2011 997 GT3 Cup for $167,500
2006 997 GT3 Cup for $89,000
2000 996 GT3R for $79,000

Modifier, you wont be able to buy a 991 cup the first year they come out, they will be reserved for teams that have to commit (and pay) for a full year series.
Perhaps you may be available to get one the second year. Given the fact they are going to be so rare the first year, I suspect that 2010 - 2013's will remain strong for at least another year.

I'm pretty stuck on the 991 in every respect. Used Cup was what I was thinking. I'm pretty committed at this point to a GT3 or if I want to wait a GT3 RS. A 991 GT3 lists for about $135k. It would be hard to touch a good used 991 Cup for that, for a few years anyhow. If it's a RS that's not until 2015 as I understand, so there is some time. People have pre-ordered 2014 GT3s and I don't know if you still can or not. I'm in Fla some and the Midwest some. Not in Fla atm. But good to know. Thanks.
I just checked with my dealer and he said all the 991 GT3s and Gt3RSs are spoken for for the next 2 years at least and that to be "allowed to buy one" you need to be on some special list with a lot of Porsche history under your belt, or that you know the right person I guess. Or he said one guy ordered a 918 and they allowed him to order a GT3 too. So it's probably back to a Cup hunt.
