[rant]although, I know im getting into the wrong debate on the wrong board here, I know some of you guys are just poking fun, but some (few) of you are completly serious with trying to cut the Z down to somthing that its not. sure its not a CGT in exclusivit tech. and all that stuff. it never claimed to be. Its a cheap (relativly) car that has sacrificed interior wood/CF etc in order to keep costs down, while still being bale to have supercar LIKE performance. The engine is a true marval and is very high tech (although not new tech).
alhough im sure some of you guys will test drive them and just be thinking, oh wow its a vorvette. wheres my chain? that steriotype really is dumb. that was somthing you could see in the 80's...and if im not mistaken. EVERYONE wore golf chains.
. Im sure someone could speak up to you guys/gals that your just lawyers who are ambulance chasers, or the ******* doctor who really didnt need to stick those fingers in ....off topic. Im sure I will be flamed, it just pisses me off everytime a cheaper car with better performace comes up for debate you guys go straight for what it lacks. im sure if this was a corvette board and the two were compared, the vette guys would be saying well the pcar is over priced and excessive. I want to lay tire strips and go around the track fastest for the least ammmount of money. My rant is going ful circle here, so I think im gonna stop.
point being: the new Z0 is one hell of a car for the money, no matter what kinda crappy steering wheel they choose (see i can poke fun as well). If it were up to me, the debate between a new Z and a 02 Turbo for 5K more would be a tough call. but the Z0 and 20K in mod money or a 997S? please. I think i know the answer here quite easily.

It will be truly a funny sight to see Arling trade in the CGT for a Z06. THAT will be a cold day in hell.
As for my friend Watt, he is giddy about the Z06 only because it's new and he's pretty much owned a large plurality of the sports cars worth owning. If he really thought Chevy was the end all, be all of sports cars, why would he have a new GT3 and GT2 on order? He has had so many of the 996 variant, I think he is downgrading to a Chevy to get excited about Porsches and Ferraris again. This is just like the time he bought a Mustang Cobra R after selling his first GT2.
One can only admire (or envy) someone like Watt who switches cars like shoes.
I guarantee you if the Carrera GT's undertray wasn't so damn expensive to replace, he would have had 3 of them by now in all different colors. It's the same reason why I've held back, though in my case, the desire only gets stronger for me as time passes on and I have a feeling that one day I will relent and get one.
The Z06 is a phenomenal value for the money, but I don't have the time or inclination to keep switching cars like my good friend Watt does. For him, cars are like cuisines... sometimes you feel like a bone-in filet, other times fugu flown in from Japan, osetra or beluga caviar, or foie gras. Then after eating all that good ****, sometimes, a trashy hamburger is what does the trick. The Z06 is kind of like the Carl's Jr. six dollar burger. Great value for the money, but it's a burger, and sometimes that's what you want after eating caviar.
Though I am not a fan of Corvettes or really any american cars, I do think it's unfair to trash Watt's decision to get one. I would love to be in his position to trade cars without a care in the world. The Z06 to him is a cheap toy that he can play around with. It's like a pair of sneakers you wear for a while and then just give away to Goodwill or the Salvation Army. He will only come to appreciate how great Porsches are after owning Chevys and Italian garbage.

i will trade the CGT in only if i can't decide which color Z06 i want. knock out the black which i promise myself can never own i can still pick up each of other 5 color.
seriously though u can't beat it in terms of $. i was thinking if i want a daily beater sports car will i want a 70k Cayman or a 70k Z06. if u do the math the Cayman starts @ 59k + the PCCB it'll top 70k quick & still have plastic interior... i know i'm comparing apple to orange but $ is $.
life will be very boring if u're biased. one can be obsessively in love with something but not hating others; there's a perfect balance to that.
