A few CGT things you don't read much about...
1) It is an unlocked cell phone with mic. That's right, it has a spot for a sim card -- pop yours in and you have a 400K cellular telephone.
2) The roof is super-easy to take off or put on. You never read that because most people just take them off and leave them off out here on the left coast. But after the first time I did it (which took many minutes of me being terrified) -- I now have it down to about 90 seconds total.
3) They fixed the clutch. They must have changed it from the early 04s. That's why you are reading all these "it is no big deals" now.
4) It comes with luggage that is designed to fit around your passenger in the event you have the roof stowed in the trunk/boot. One bag for under the seat, one hangs behind the seat, another sits between the seat and the doorsill. It's shockingly effective in a totally ludicrous way.
5) It has hidden panels in the doors. As in, when you open the door, where you might normally find a sticker or something -- there are compartments that you access by pressing on what amounts to an ummarked door. Looking at them, I had visions of some celebrity saying "Gee, Officer, I don't know what you smell -- take a look around" with a smirk, knowing his stash was stashed.
6) It DOES have a nose lift -- er, no it doesn't -- just me dreaming...
And one last thing
Even though it is very low -- it is much more useable than I first thought. I have in fact gone grocery shopping in it.

got my phone to work. in fact i call it CGT HOTLINE. it only works when i'm driving the car.
deanger,
have u figured out what to put in the door pocket yet? i tried but a 9mm compact didn't fit, so i'll just put a Coke in it plus some pocket money. btw, load some MP3 to a MMC so it won't bother the NAV.

You forgot to mention the SD card slot. I just purchased a 2 GB card and put a bunch of my songs on it, now I have lots of good hip hop to drive to!

First of all, congratulations on your new car!
I have been trying to point this out to people for months, but no one seems to listen to me.
One of the earliest received '04s had a clutch problem. Both Ben and Nick drove that car which is what initially caused Ben to attempt to cancel his order.
When Ben's car arrived, he noted that the clutch operation was nothing like the other car. The original car's clutch also exploded after 4000 miles just after the new owner took delivery. The repair was covered under warranty.
Yes, maybe the whole "clutch issue" was blown out of proportion, but no one here (AFAIK) experienced either of the two early cars that were reported to have clutch problems--except for Nick & Ben--so who knows if it was a defective clutch or a problem that was rectified during the course of continued production?

I just wish it had an iPod connector.

In addition, when we posted our impressions of the CGT drive, we both commented on the suspension/ride feeling in that it may be a little too hard for street use. When Ben took delivery, the suspension setting on his car was set in the middle rather the race setting which most are delivered in. Ben strongly suspect Porsche was monitoring the boards and taking action when appropriate.
BTW Dean your passion for the car is obvious. That is the way it should be.

Left is volume (and other functions), right is tuning (and other functions) and the little one to the left below volume is power.
