PPI Results Help!

Guys - the PPI came back and nothing really surprised me or threw me off except these two items:

1) Oil leak seems to be coming from the front crank seal
2) rear main seal seems to be leaking

The compression test came back with 130psi in all 6 cylinders and no over revs.

What do you guys think about the 2 leaks? The car was sitting for about a year.

It's the 2007 GT3, less than 10k miles. It has some service history. I believe the original owner replaced the seals before under warranty. The car sat for a little over a year so the seals dried up and there is now some oil coming out. It is very little but leaks are only going to get worse before they get better.

After calling a few shops, the price to replace both seals is $3000-$5000.

That can be a problem with a low milage car. If the drip is small, say quarter size, after sitting overnight I wouldn't be too worried. I would negotiate the cost into the price of the car.

Thanks - it's not even really a drip. It's more "moisture." But that is something I'm negotiating with him.

Everything else looked good aside from a leak at the left front strut line.

These seals will seep if the car is not driven. If I'm the seller I'm not negotiating on that.

The estimates to replace the seals seems outrageous. The rear seal requires tranny drop. The front seal I believe you can do with the engine in place after removing bumper. I'd expect about 3 hours labor on the front, 8 hours on the rear max + the seals which I think are about 150 each. So call it 1500 total.

Unless they are dripping I would not bother. Clean up the areas, drive the car. I'll be the seeps stop.
