Variocam solenoid replacement on my 996 GT3 Mk2

Hi Guys

I am looking to replace the RHS Variocam solenoid because of mine leaking oil through the plug area.

I am confused though as to how one would remove the original solenoid. It has a 32mm nut at the bottom of the solenoid which cannot be reached with a tube socket and there is no place to use a spanner??

Does this mean the engine has to be lowered to creat usable space??

Please advise

Thanks in advance
