Roll bar and seat mounts for a tall driver

I drive an 2006 Carrera S in PCA DE's and would like to get a bar and better seats, but at 6'5" and 245 lbs I need all the room possible. I keep my seat all the way back and most of the rear cages I have seen would not allow that. I also want it to be bolt in and removable at a later date. I also have very wide hips so the Porsche GT seats are way too tight for me, aftermarket XL seats that I have tried are ok.

Any other big guys have any hints?

I am also 6'5", and as big as the 911 has become over the years, proper driver figment is difficult for tall drivers. Here is what I've done:

- GMG RSR roll bar (some tall drivers use the factory clubsport bar). The key is the B-pillar downtubes angling forward at the bottom to reach the mounting points so that the seat can go all the way back.

- Custom-sized and custom mounted Kirkey seats mounted directly to the floor.

- Momo hub extension, Rothsport steering wheel quick disconnect and Sparco R353 steering wheel

The GMG bar has a tube that runs straight across the down tubes, behind the seat. This doesn't intefere with the seat moving all the way back?

The GMG roll around was installed by the original owner so I will check, but I am fairly certain that it is the RSR version. The point is that the vertical down tubes are positioned a bit further back with just the bottoms angled forward to reach the mounting points. Some bars, such as DASport, run straight down to the mounting points and the side of the seat will hit the down tubes.

Regardless of the roll bar and seat, the steering wheel mods are necessary to have sufficient knee room to heel/toe.

Our GMG RSR harness bar is a great option for taller drivers who need the additional room.

The other option we make is the LMS roll bar which does not have an X in the main hoop and offers you the ability to recline seats even further.

We also our custom seat base , slider and side mounts for the 997 models.

Please feel free to email me directly for more information fabryce@gmgracing.com

Karl - I will be at Watkins Glen June 18-21 with PCA Potomac; not too far from LI if you want to see and sit in mine.

In addition to the roll bar here is out new seat base mounting kit. This kit allows for an extremely low seating position, especially in comparison to other mounts on the market.
