991 GT3 vs GTR 550 HP
|
I'm surprised with a 75hp advantage, 4WD & turbocharged. It still can't pull away from the GT3 with ease. Still The GTR is an overrated car. Try doing 50 consecutive LC on the GTR & see what happens to the gearbox. Cheers mate!

LOL why would anyone ever want to do that |
Well they they have tried it on the 991 TTS last year with no problem whatsoever. Why 50 launches? To commemorate 50th Anniversary of the 911 series. Cheers mate!

How is the GTR an overrated car?

If the GTR is so over rated....................
Why can't any 911 beat the time the Nismo put down at the RING...................... 7:08 ................ My 500 HP GT-2 also can't beat my GTR at the track in private road racing................... Each Car is great ................... WHO CARES ABOUT 50 LC'S ...................... Most who post crap here don't own either car............... JUST LOTS OF TALK........... Take a stock Nismo and add $ 30,000.00 of bolton ons to equal the 991 TT price. What you get is 800 HP and a shep's stage 3 transmission that can't be hurt........... AGAIN.......EACH CAR IS GREAT.................. |

How could that comment be true. Each are road race cars including the GT-2. NO PORSCHE 911 HAS COME CLOSE TO THE NISMO AT THE RING.......... NO GT-2 , NO GT-3 , NO GT-3 RS.........................hilarious As I said, our 500 HP GT-2 could not beat our GTR ?????????????? Same driver, same track............. |
Oh, I beg to differ

Same driver, same track............. Admittedly, I'm not familiar w/ the "Ring" and times set after the '20's set a few years ago by NISMO? There's no doubt, GT-R's are formidable there. However, take a GT-R vs GT3 and see LAP OVER LAP on track and see what they both do? One lap of the "ring" in itself is but one measure of capacity. Which stock car would have better performance at a venue like 12 hours of Sebring? Comparing "out of the box," the GT-R is way too heavy and can't compete on track through real world track use. Modest ambient air temps make huge power differences. The GT3 is about 800 lbs lighter and doesn't miss a beat, under any barometric changes, whatsoever. I've tracked GT-R's hard '11, '12, '13 and then the Switzer Performance Club Sport (http://www.topspeed.com/cars/nissan/...-ar158197.html) and they're DIFFERENT cars by design. (Yes, the avatar and link is me and my car). Even w/ triple adjustable, JRZ suspension and complete re-haul, it still doesn't handle as well as a stock GT3. Only the original block remained stock in this Club Sport. Even aluminum brake and gas pedals replaced OEM. BUT, 800 lbs is 800 lbs is 800 lbs. At the end of the day, it's all opinion because no one has a lock on labels. I speak only from my own world and experience. I rarely street these cars (I drive a pickup truck) but track them, mostly. So, my comments are respectfully from that perspective. Just saying. |
All of your points are correct.............
The GT-2 and GT-3 are far better out of the box. They may not be faster for 1 to 5 laps but they will not have issues after 30 laps. The GTR does have issues and you are 1 of the first on the web site to really know. The GTR 's main issues are -Too much weight - poor brake cooling -poor trans axle cooling Brake and trans cooling can be fixed....... 650 pounds overweight is the worst problem. And as you said, the do not feel the same on a road race track. ENJOY YOUR CARS . |

NO ONE EVER SAID THAT THE 911 TT, GT-2, GT-3 WERE NOT GREAT AND BULLET PROOF CARS.
THEY ARE JUST NO THE FASTEST CARS AT THE NURBURGING................. He is a quote from autoweek...................... " If it runs on the ring...... It can run anywhere. That statement might as well be etched into the fabled track. The majority of the auto industry seems to hold that philosophy . In the last 20 years , 40 manufactures have set up shop at the RING.............. So................. what are we saying here........... SOME 911'S AS STATED ABOVE ARE MORE DURABLE.................. ALL NISSAN GTR'S INCLUDING THE NISMO ARE FASTER AT THE RING............ The brand new 2015 GT-3 ran SLOWER THAN THE 2012 GTR ????????????????????? MUCH SLOWER THAN THE NISMO.................... AS I SAID IN OTHER POSTS....... Our 2004 GT-2 was 2 seconds a lap slower than our 09 GTR with the same driver........ |
I also love 911 gt-2 and gt-3 ssssssssssssss.
I grow tired of non owners blowing smoke and have lots of time to reply to untruths.... These are both top supercars .......... each deserves RESPECT FROM OWNERS AND DREAMERS........... |
