The 911 GT3 RS Might Have A Problem Porsche Doesn't Know About

http://www.carbuzz.com/news/2015/10/...About-7729744/

Track ready? Possibly not. Things didn’t start off so well for the Porsche 911 GT3. In short, for those who don’t recall, its 3.8-liter flat-six caught on fire. Porsche made good by replacing all of the engines. Problem solved. But now the even more potent GT3 RS has arrived and owners, not surprisingly, are having a ball thrashing it at the track. But one owner may have just discovered a previously unknown problem. And no, its 4.0-lite flat-six isn’t the issue. According to the Supercar Kids, the driver of this RS was at the Nurburgring and happened to notice a sound he didn’t like:The tires were rubbing against the inner wheel well; the suspension simply couldn’t handle the massive amount of downforce that was being generated, especially at the front wheels. What’s more, the owner claims the car is completely stock, save for "a changed camber."

Bottom line, the suspension didn’t hold and the owner claims that only after a few runs, the car’s front indicators, downforce grille and the inner wheel arc were ruined. No comment from Porsche as of yet, but check out the included video. You can hear the downforce having its way with the suspension.

Actually, it seems not to be an isolated issue. It came up on German boards (as noted here too http://www.autoevolution.com/news/po...eo-100913.html) and there were at least 2 other reported incidents on either Jalopnik or 911uk.com.

Not nearly in the same category as the self-combustion thing, but you gotta wonder....

This is what happens when you lower the car add camber and don't correct for caster.
