Is anyone else surprised that the RS didn't fair so well? Could it be an issue with the car setup? Does it come with a street setup from the factory and you can adjust the cast & camber before track use?

I thought the RS did very well...3 tenths of a second slower then the 650 HP Z06 on a big track!! Those two cars lap times could have gone either way...but now ask which of the two cars can continue to posts lap times with a few tenths of those times all day and I would have to say the Porsche.

Its the Viper that moved the goal posts, so to speak, by being over 2 seconds quicker then both cars. The Viper posted a time that was almost as quick (second slower) as the amazing 918.

The issue with the Z06 is that as of right now, it's only good for a few laps around the track, then starts having issues. It will set a 'hero lap,' meaning that it will set a very fast time but can only do it once. Unfortunately, unlike the previous C6 gen, the car lost its focus; the last generation was a low weight high horsepower car that you could track all day, the new one is much heavier and offered as a convertible and a automatic. So if we're talking about repeated performance, the GT3RS will definitely be much more consistent.

Believe it or not the ACR Viper ran a 1:28.65, which is almost a second a half faster than a 918.
For comparison, Randy Pobst ran the Viper ACR with the Extreme Aero pack around Laguna Seca and set a record lap time of 1:28.65, beating the previous record—set by a Porsche 918―by 1.24 seconds
