The CS and the 430 on the other hand, thats two cars I could get behind and for a lot less $$$ too.

[B]This car will be one of those landmarks in automobile history, I think.
Technology will have to come a long way and will be decades before it gets even marginally better than this.
Some more interesting numbers (Taken from the Top Gear video and Howstuffworks.com):
A W-16 engine that can produce 1,001 horsepower
A zero-to-180 time of 14 seconds
Turbo boost of 18 PSI x 4
The engine has four valves per cylinder, for a total of 64 valves.
Has 11 radiators
Burns 1.33 gallons of gas a minute at top speed. The car is empty in 12 minutes at top speed.
The engine is just 710 mm (27 inches) long, 889 mm (35 inches) wide and 730 mm (28.7 inches) high.
7 speed gearbox.
There is no clutch pedal or shift lever for the driver to operate -- the computer controls the clutch disks as well as the actual shifting. The computer is able to shift gears in 0.2 seconds.
In the rear, the tires are 14.4 inches (36.6 cm) wide - the widest ever produced for a passenger car, and they can run flat for approximately 125 miles (201 km) at 50 mph (80 kph).
The car is 79 inches (200 cm) wide, 176 inches (447 cm) long and only 48 inches (122 cm) high. Keep in mind that a Hummer H2 is 81.2 inches wide. The Bugatti is extremely wide for its height.
The wing can produce quite a bit of downforce - about 100 kg (221 pounds) at the rear and 80 kg (177 pounds) at the front at top speed."
At maximum power, the engine is consuming 45,000 liters of air per minute.
Even though the body is sculpted in carbon fiber to minimize its mass, the car weighs in at about 4,300 pounds (1,950 kg). For comparison, a Dodge Viper weighs about 1,000 pounds (454 kg) less.
Amazing.....

The performance of the Bugatti is just plain crazy. Think about it under a minute to 253mph, that is SICK fast guys.
A formula 1 car cant touch it, bet whoever gets one of the Bugatti's is going to be bored NO ONE will race him, what would be the point.

Right at the end they spoke of how Bugatti/VW loses money on every one they make (5 million quid to produce, whatever that is). This car is to the automobile world today what the old Duesenbergs and Cords were back in the 30's. Everything about the car is cost prohibitive ($2500 turn signal stalks, 30K stereo), yet they did it anyway. The Veyron is also likely to represent the far end of the automotive performance spectrum for some time to come. To create a car much faster will require adding even more weight, and delivering even more power to the wheels. The added weight means diminishing returns in the power-to-weight domain. Additional power means more wheelspin.
Technology will have to come a long way and will be decades before it gets even marginally better than this.

I also love how he unlocked the "high-speed mode". "Volkswagen says that when activating this mode, there are some necessary checks you need to perform. Now... I have no idea what those checks might be.. so, uhh... *kicks tires*... looks good to me"
The car is simply amazing, I LOVED the Top Gear episode and the stat about beating the McLaren to 200mph. The lack of engine cover is really interesting. I didnt realize there were any in the US though yet.
Oh yeah, Can we ban Cayanneboy please?
