Is it ok to lift GT2 by engine?

Is it ok to lift GT2 by engine?
dealer lifted my GT2 up by engine to get some room, then slipped lift arms in to lift all the way up. Manual says never lift by engine, but dealership was very professional, very meticulous, very knowledgeable and said this procedure was acceptable and had been done on GT2/3 and Carrera GT, just checking as I am always paranoid

to lift it to get it on jack stands...yes. To lift it and support it(the car) by the crankcase no....

cool, thats what they did they lifted it up to get the clearance to get the arms in then used the arms to lift up

That's the usual way I get it on 4 jackstands.
