Production of the legendary $440,000 Porsche Carrera GT ended today (Saturday, May 6) at the Porsche plant Leipzig, Germany.
http://news.caradisiac.com/IMG/jpg/P...rrera-GT-7.jpg Production began September 28, 2000. A total of 1,270 units were built — 27 percent higher than the planned 1,000 units. http://www.autoshow.ro/images/wallpa...%20gt_1024.jpg A reported 53 percent of the cars went to the United States, 12 percent to Germany, and 7 percent to the United Arab Emirates. http://www.autoglobal.com/screens/Po...arreraGT_A.jpg Porsche has not announced any plans for a follow-up to the 612 horsepower supercar :D |
Damn I was just about to post a similar thread, like 5 minutes later. Anyway a historic day indeed.
- Edit - We could do something like hommage-thread with the best/coolest pix and stuff. Just a thought? |

Felix throw up your awesome fayence shots!
Interestingly the 'Autovisie' pictures are from an article wich was meant like a hommage to Porsche and the Targa Florio, they went to Sicily and drove the original route. |
