PASM question
PASM question
so the 997 GT3 comes standard with PASM, and the car is 30mm lower than the "standard" 997. but what if i change the suspension, e.g. lower springs, or coilovers... what affect, if any, will that have on the PASM system? any negative affects?

for the 997s h&r sells PASM specific springs. several people have instaled them on their cars with no complaints. some with heavy track use and they said the handling was improved. check other forums fr previous postings on this topic for the 997s. i guess the 997gt3 will be similar once aftermarket suspension parts become available.
9ff has full suspension upgrade based on the pss9 that works with PASM. cargraphics too.

PASM could be one of the most serious problems in this car, for track junkies. I just wish they had a conventional sport suspension. The PASM on the 997S is no good, especially for track work. If you have any experience with tuning a suspension, you will be disappointed with PASM on the 911.
I put the H&R springs on my PASM 997S to lower it. I'm going to take them off now. The spring rates are just different enough that the PASM dampers are not matched correctly. In the "normal" mode, they are underdamped. In the "sport" mode, they just are stiff on bump, and underdamped on rebound.
Mark my words, those who track their GT3s a lot will be looking for a non-PASM suspension, unless Porsche did an incredible job on the GT3 version.
