360's in the GT3's

My car ran 11.86 @ 120mph at Raceway Park 2 years ago. I've not drag raced since. That was on a 200 lbs lighter car with the stock transmission.
When I had the car brand new, I tested it at Englishtown after the break-in, it ran a 12.3 @113mph and 12.2 @ 115mph. Stock weight: 3133 lbs at the e-town scales.

I can't tell you how many kids with EVO's amd M3's think the GT3 is not very fast because of the information available to magazine racers.
Granted we all know the GT3 was never ment to be a stoplight drag racer, but for the sake of e-battles, I wish we had some proof.
That time is amazing.

The 12.2 was on a totally bone stock car. I ran it to get a baseline. My 60' times were horrible (2.1 secs). The car is capable of 1.8 secs 60' times in the right hands. I've been told that a better launch will produce a higher trap speed and lower E.T. The car had a little over 1,000 miles on the odometer.
The 11.86 was just 0.3 secs faster, compared to the stock car, the impressive number was the trap speed being 5 mph higher. This run was done at the same place, weighed 2940 lbs, LWFW, properly broken-in engine with close to 10,000 miles.
These days, the car is even lighter, it has a stonger Cup LSD, short Ring and Pinion gear, 1" wider rear wheels and much wider tires. It should be faster.
My car requires 3 upshift on the 1/4 mile, that hurts E.T and trap speed.
On one recent test against a V10 M5 from 50mph-125mph, pulling from third at 4,000rpm (my short R&P), the M5 was losing ground to my car below the magical 6,800rpm, once I got into the sweet GT3 powerband, the M5 was left so far away that it was not even a contest.
By the way, a well driven 996TT X50 is capable of high 11s.
This is a time slip with the car being three weeks old. Bone Stock GT3 with 3133 lbs, running MPS2.
I could not find my time slip from November 2004 at the same track (last time I ever drag raced), but I have the complete data on a spreadsheet. 2938 lbs, LWFW, 245/285 Dunlop Super Sport Race.
These days the car is running at 2890 lbs, still with the stock exhaust, with a stronger LSD and a GT3Cup 4.00:1 final gear. I'm curious to test it again.

- GT3 Recaro Seats
- Removed side and passenger airbags.
- Removed Glovebox
- 11 lbs Braille Battery
- No trunk carpets
- No floor mats
- Empty windshield wiper reservoir
- Lighter 18" wheels
- Lighter Tires
- PCCB
- Lighter Springs
- RS Flywheel
- FabSpeed Cat bypass pipes
- No toolbox
That's pretty much it. A lighter exhaust should bring it to 2860 lbs. Once in a while I remove the passenger seat, interior rear carpets and rear side panels, for an extra 65 lbs reduction and a pretty loud race car sound.
