gt3 as road trip car?
I made my S2000 stiffer than a GT3 and as long as the seats are okay, the road trip should be fine.
Normally long stretches of highway outside of a metropolis will be acceptable (not so bumpy), so the stiffness shouldn't matter TOO much. The exhaust will surely be quieter than my Honda's, and sound nicer, so that shouldn't be a problem, either. But as long as the seats don't put cramps in your *** and kill your lumbar, you should be okay. I've never sat in a GT3.

I've always enjoyed the cushiness of a Town Car on long trips. No worries about pot holes, road construction, road debris, or bad weather.
The track is really the only place I want to be in a GT3.

I DO agree with K5Cruiser, I am just trying to help the OP justify the car if he really wants it.
If it's only a road trip car, that's pretty strange - because you WONT enjoy it where it normally would be. So it's not even a compromise kind of thing.
What is your other car? Is it possible to use that other car for the trips, and maybe the GT3 for weekends and spirited around-town errands?
I think if I was buying a car strictly for road trips, I would NOT look at a GT3. If I were looking for a car that I took road trips in, among other daily driving, I'd surely consider the car.

My good friends Jeff and Nilli did the AKA Rally with me in their GT3 - 3k miles one way and then they drove back to the west coast. It had the top gps verified speed of the entire rally, and they never complained about comfort once, although I think it's safe to say they are more hardcore than most.
