My answer is to wait 12 months after release and find a used 997GT3 that someone took the new Porsche hit on already.

The 996 GT3 is the sports car bargin of the century. Can't go wrong at the current prices...$80-85K. Personally, I think the 996GT3 has a more pure look than the 997 GT3....I love mine.

Wow. That is a heck of a premium.
The 997 GT3 isn't worth $50k more but for those people who don't have to question the financial side of ownership it is worth it This applies to a 996 GT3 vs a used '00 Boxster S and continues all the way down until we get to walking vs bus pass or bus pass vs bicycle.

Well we all know most 997 GT3's won't walk out the dealer stripped down at $107k....more likely to be at least $115k-130k for the car.

Just as we all know a F430 stickers at $190k but commands an easy $240k new......if it was at $190k I'll buy one today

Is it fair to assume that the 997 TT and GT3 will depreciate along the lines of how 996TT's and GT3's have?

If so..how much would they go for in one, two and three years?

996TT and 996GT3's have completely different depreciation scales.

Hmm hard to compare really and it all depends on what the certain buyer/person thinks. I think it is worth it of course, brand new and better in almost every way (except maybe rawness factor) but hey, i havent driven the 997GT3 so i wouldnt know! The thing sure is GORGEOUS though

An 04 GT3 was anywhere from $105 to $120. They can now be had for $70-$75k.
An 04 TT was anywhere from $130 to $150. They can now be had for $80-$85k.

Wait two years and the 7 GT3 will be down in the 80's while the 6 GT3 will have stabilized in the, say, high 50's/low 60's...in other words the current $ 50K differential will be reduced to 30 or maybe even less...depreciation curves start steep and then flatten out.

How much do you think the prices of 996 GT3s will go down with in the next few months considering the 997s will be out and about?
