Sorry to revive an old thread.
I was just reading the latest issue of superstreet and they were reporting the results. They also mentioned that the car was banned. Something about they were now not allowing any purpose built race cars to compete in the event.
Sounds like they were just upset that a euro took the 1st place. They really haven’t had much luck with that event. The first year a dang Chevy company built cobalt won it, then a euro. Not great for a Japanese tuner magazine.
Do you plan on going back with another car next year??? It looks like that you just can’t bring a car that competes in a race series.

Well this is actually flattering.. We showed up with a cup car on DOT street tires and kicked everyones ***... LOL So they only way they can compete with a Porsche Cup Car is to Ban that car or type of car.. Funny.......
The car that finished in second was a purpose built car make no doubt about. They were complaining the cup car was a factory built race car and it competed in a professional series. Ok sure... It was and is.
Well the 2nd place Blue Skyline GTR may not have competed in a professional race series - But I would be willing to bet that if you parked our cup car and that car next to each and actually looked both of them the Skyline was more developed and modified than the cup car.
Not to mention they fly in some D1 drift king who is " The Man"...
At least all the body panels on our cup car can be bolted from any street 996. - Unlike the widened fenders on the Skyline - Yeah there real production parts...LOL
You should read the article after the time attack about the guy who did all the tuning.. Talk Talk Talk That is some of the best bench racing I have heard in years....... Bottom line is we showed up with a production based cup car on DOT Toyo's with wheels that were 8.5 in front and rear were 11 . Unlike the Skyline which was on hoosiers which are faster. Not to mention I think the front tires on the Skyline were wider than the rears on the cup car looking at the pictures LOLOL. LOL maybe the skyline isnt a pro car because it cant last a race? LOLOL
And then he mentions in the article that he smoked the "997GT2" with the skyline LOLO.. Ya sure it was faster but the GT2 was driven to the track and has a FULL interior with AC working .. I am sure the AC works great in that Skyline.
. Not to mention we left the full interior including the floor mats and spare tire in the GT2 during the entire event.
Oh well I guess this is the nature of the beast.. You beat someone at there game and they make excuses.
We will plan on running the GT2 in this years event.. But it wont be a stripped down race car with a license plate on it.. No need to play that game.
Then he makes the comment that he offered us $1000.00 to go run again. Yup he sure did but they had there chance all day to get that car dialed in.
We ran our fast time in the first official timed heat and not the second so it wasnt as if we squeeked that time out right before the end of the last session they had plenty of time to get there act together.
Its like Schumacher going to FIA after Alonso out qualifies him and saying.. Ya we didnt have our car dialed in I will give Alonso 100k dollars if I cant go out there and beat his time for P1.. LOLOl Seriously!! Are you kidding me?
We played by the rules.. We were better that day. Not by much but enough to win. Perhaps another day things would be different, thats why its called competiton some times you win sometimes you loose.
In the end we had a great time. The magazines put on a great event. We had a blast & 99% of the competitors were great and very welcoming.. If any of you are planning on doing any of these events I highly recommend it.
And the almighty 700HP+Skyline got humbled by the little Pcar..

hey i was there at the event and know a good deal about both cars. GMG is right the XS/HKS R32 is a full on track car with CHEAP PARTS...What they dont realize is the car is better tuned for a track with a set of GT2528 turbos over the GT2835 turbos they are running... secondly they talk a great game at that shop but honestly i just perfer not to use them...
I might keep my T04z turbo on the car and run it this weekend at the event.. I am sure they will be there... And i was told by the shop in japan i use they will fly out there best guy to compete against them. Fact is... if you had a properly built GT-R vs a properly built Turbo...its going to make a great race and literally come down to driver...
NICE! PLEASE tell me there's in-car vids of the winning lap!
BTW, was that white skyline called the Mines Skyline? There's vids of it on Best Motoring. It's a beast.
