ULTIMATE HOLIDAY GIFT FROM PETERSEN/WHITE LIGHTNING

Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning Racing's record in the American Le Mans Series puts the Las Vegas-based team among the elite of the Series. Nine class victories since 1999, a class championship and two wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans stacks up against the best teams in all of sports car racing.

While organizing its plans to recapture the GT2 championship in the 2007 American Le Mans Series, the team has put its two most recent Porsche 911 GT3 RSR race cars up for sale. The first is the most successful car in the Petersen/White Lightning stable – the Porsche that won at Le Mans in 2004 and the American Le Mans Series' GT2 championship in 2005 (among other achievements). Also available – and what a Christmas gift this could be! – is the Porsche that Petersen/White Lightning debuted this season with a class win at Lime Rock Park, along with two other Series victories.

The older of the Porsches – VIN WPOZZZ99Z4S693066 for collectors – is one of the most successful GT cars ever raced in the world. It competed in 19 events from Le Mans in 2004 until the Monterey Sports Car Championships in October of 2005. During that span Petersen/White Lightning won six times, recorded 16 podium finishes and helped the team capture the 2005 IMSA Cup as the best independent team in GT2. In addition to winning at Le Mans in 2004 the car also won at Sebring, Petit Le Mans and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in 2005, along with two other American Le Mans Series class wins.

It was featured in the April 2006 issue of Road & Track and served as the American Le Mans Series' media and promotions car for the second half of the season.

The team's newer Porsche – VIN WPOZZZ99Z5S693070 – was acquired prior to the New England Grand Prix in June and promptly found its way to Victory Circle. The car also posted class wins at Road America and Petit Le Mans as Petersen/White Lightning again captured the IMSA Cup and placed second in the GT2 championship.
