Amen. I learned that lesson firsthand with my Maserati Coupe. Stunning looks, awesome motor. Pieces fell off regularly; clutch went out 7 times in 6 months. From that experience I'll never buy a Ferrari regardless how pretty they are.

OK, it is true that the Carrera GT’s carbon fiber clutch is a disaster that transforms a perfectly serviceable (if low slung) daily driver into a San Francisco supercar owner’s worst nightmare.
I thought the CGT's clutch was the only reason they could mount the engine as low as they did. Could they make a clutch with the same diameter that isn't as harsh?

Yeah, the clutch is the size it is (and thus tricky) due to exactly the reason you stated. I have also read that the clutch isn't that tricky, you just have to get used to how to use it correctly.
