If only video came close to capturing the look and feel going into turn 1 at speed ... this does it no justice but you get the idea.

That GT3 is seriously fast. I can't imagine what it will run once it's broken in and pushed hard. Was he running Michelin PSCs or another tire?

I think it was more of the Corvette's fault. first mistake he overbraked, second mistake he changed his line and started to close on apex. I mean c'mon he knew the Viper was right behind him on the straight away. I wouldn't call him an idiot. There is a difference between performance schools and open track days. if you are attending a open trackday you should expect few casulties.
Well #1 the vette was flying into turn 1, about 10-20mph faster than the turn can handle so he had to brake harder just to be able to make the turn. The line to make sure you apex that turn correctly is where the Porsche is (filming). Then #2 the Viper comes into the turn on an even tighter line and about 5mph faster yet ... a very unsafe line even if you were running alone. The driver running up on the **** of the guy in front is repsonsible for not tagging and spinning him out. This is true on the track or on the street. EVERYONE watching knew the Viper was making an AZZinine move ... nobody else came even close to attempting that line all day. Then this idiot tries it amidst traffic, putting everyone in danger. He probably think he's an amazing driver by keeping it from nosing straight into the inside wall or spinning into the far wall. I say it was shear white knuckle luck that kept him from crashing and burning. If you think the vette is at fault ... just know for the record that the Viper driver was booted from Road Atlanta after this "infraction" on Saturday and the Panoz racing school isn't welcoming him back. Good riddance!!!!!!

Not sure about other people's experiences, but at DEs and track days, I have seen more Vipers, Cobras and Vettes go off more than any other car. Few Porsches going off. DNA differences???
Viper driver is a moron. You can always spot them immediately. Hate being on the track with people like that. Makes you just want to pull into the pits and wait until they crash before going back out.

engineering. thats all.
Hey guys ... here are a few quick clips of me coming down the front stretch at Road Atlanta last week (the silver 996TT). Man what a track. If you've never been on it I highly recommend a trip. We'll be tracking there several times in 2007 so get ahold of me if you are interested in running with us.

The 3 clips (identical 996TT photos) near the top of this page will open up your Windows Media player. I had some format problems with these for some reason so older versions of Media Player may not run them.
Have a great weekend.
