Rear main seal
Magically my TT with positive crankcase pressure and 0W40 doesn't leak. TT's have been out for almost a year in greater numbers with no reported RMS leaks. My educated guess is that it is not oil related

I am suprised to here of so many GT3's having this problem. We are all aware of the vast problem with the regular 996 rear main seal problem, but typically the GT3 and turbo seals are far less likely to leak.
As stated before, the more one of these cars is driven, the less chance of oil leaks. The other function of oil (besides the obvious) is to keep the seals lubricated and moist. It is when the seals become dry that leaks start.

How many times have they changed their PAID approved oil listing? Which generation of seal are they using know. How many engines have had to be replaced? The second gear pop out issue was deliberately engineered by Porsche...wasn't it? and on and on and on.....Many other auto manufaturers spend a hell of alot more on R&D than does Porsche, so by your logic, their products must be better? Better go out and buy a Ford then.

Mine is leaking on my 996 with the 997 seal and it was suggested that the 993 seal works well. What do you mean by variant 993 seal and part number if you have to see if I can try.
This is just unacceptable, they need to redesign their seals and dealers need to stop with daily driver BS. The car shouldn't leak, period. I had my Acura TL sit in the garage for months and months over 3 years and not a drop of oil.
My RMS has been replaced twice at 8k and about 16k in my '04 GT3. Looks like it might be never ending. The process was very quick and easy under warranty, though. It makes a compelling case for an extended warranty.
we see a few gt3s and rs' (not ours yet) with the RMS issue. I overheard James talking to someone about it (need to confirm this) but the seal they are using is an older style one from the 996 days.. I'll try to get more for you but either way it's not a "big" issue. Not that it really should be an issue I know.
